    Clarinda softball left the tying run at third base and the winning run at second in the bottom of the seventh inning in a 6-5 home loss to Kuemper in the opening game of a Hawkeye 10 Conference doubleheader Monday, June 27. The Knights then won the nightcap 9-1.

    The Clarinda baseball team earned a 5-2 win at Creston to avenge a loss from earlier this season while Clarinda softball fell to the Hawkeye 10 Conference leading and Class 4A No. 9 Panthers 11-1 in five innings in games played Thursday, June 23.

    The Clarinda A’s found themselves in a big early hole Tuesday, June 21, at home against St. Joseph, climbed completely out of the hole to take a two-run lead, but then fell 9-8.

    The Clarinda baseball team wasn’t able to come close to handing Lewis Central its first Hawkeye 10 Conference loss Monday, June 20, in games played in Clarinda. The Titans won the opener 15-4 and the nightcap 20-1 to improve to 19-2 on the season.

    Clarinda junior Levi Wise threw a one-hit shutout over five innings and the Clarinda bats put up an eight-run fifth inning to beat East Mills 10-0 Saturday, June 18, to wrap up this year’s Baseball Day festivities.

    SHENANDOAH – The Shenandoah baseball team gave fourth-ranked Clarinda everything they wanted, but the Cardinals held on for a 6-5 win Thursday, June 16, in Shenandoah. The game was called after six innings because of lightning.
